Personal Thoughts:

Since this was my very first time cosplaying, I wanted to do something that would be relatively simple but also instantly recognizable to people in the fandom. After playing through my sister's Pokemon Emerald game in 2014, I knew I had found my costume: I was going to be a Team Aqua grunt. Why a Team Aqua grunt? For one, I loved how adorably clueless the sprites were whenever I talked to them in the game. For another, they wore a lot of blue, black, and white, which is pretty much my wardrobe as well. And last of all, they used Water Pokemon, and I love Water Pokemon.
