Construction Details:

The hat is constructed with a copper wire oval, which I attached steel wires to make a sort of cage. I added some batting (to hide the wires), and covered it with green fleece on the top and black cotton on the bottom, then painted on the green.



The antennae are the steel wire with fleece sewn around them. I sort of stabbed them through the fleece and wrapped the ends around one of the 'cage' ribs, so I can move them up and down.



I also made a smaller halo of wire (the size of my head), wrapped it in dark fleece, and tied it to the larger copper circle with 4 strands of fleece. The halo sits on my head, and the rest of the hat wobbles from that. I can still see while wearing it, yay!

Personal Thoughts:

I really wanted a costume with a cape. :x
