About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Shirt:
Basic stretch fabric. Turtleneck with very poofy sleeves. I pleated the top and bottom of the sleeves for a poofier effect.
Vest:
I first patterned the vest with bedsheets. The hood pattern was the hardest part to figured out, since I wanted it to be actually be able to be put up but still maintain that collar look when it's down. In the end, I used a long rectangle piece of interfacing to achieve the effect I wanted. The fabric for the vest was just white, generic, suit fabric and the gold borders were gold ribbon. I opted for a zipper in the front that extended all the way onto the hood. There is a fake buckle in the back.
Pants:
HOPE PANTS FABRIC LEFT OVERS. I kept taking in the edge of the pants to make it shorter and shorter until they were practically at my thighs. Shota boy shorts are so weird. Anyway I opted for elastic to make my life easier.
Pauldron:
Patterned from duct tape. The base is marine vinyl and I made the borders with bias tape. The lion head was half a foam circle with homemade paperclay. I actually messed up on the ingredients so it was very hard to sand. I tried to dremel in more details but it wasn't giving me the look I wanted. I then decided to just paint in the details and the overall look was pretty legit. After letting that dry I glued it onto the pauldron and wrapped spray painted gold cord around the head. I made a fake belt buckle in the back with brads to bedazzle it a bit.
Belt:
More brown marine vinyl, made with the same techniques as the pauldron. I spray painted vinyl gold and used it to cut out designs. I paper patterned them first, of course. I just simply glued those on. I punched two holes in the front and put a yellowish ribbon through it. The ribbon is just for show, as the belt actually just ties up in the back. There is one belt loop located at the top for the shield.
Shield: - Personal Thoughts:
- Dang I completely forgot to make an ACP page for this costume... EEK I hope i still remember everything I did!!
