About this Costume
Construction Details:
The hat was completely made by hand sewing. There was no machinery involved. It took me 25 hours. I had to make the hat frame out of wires and then add layers of fabric, ribbons, and sequins to the hat entirely by hand. The dress took me at least 50 hours to make. It was no easy feat. The dress was made out of four layers: satin lining, red and gold lame, gold lame, and red sequins. We also used fusible interfacing. The materials were very difficult to work with.
Personal Thoughts:
I made this costume for a Masquerade group skit at Dragon*Con 2015. We performed as Willie Scott and the Club Obi Wan Showgirls to "Anything Goes" from the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. This is by far one of the largest and most elaborate group skit I have ever done in a long time. We put so much hard work and effort into our costume, and we rehearsed like crazy just so we can have a perfect performance at the Masquerade. Everyone who participated in this skit deserves so much credit in order to make it happen. The costumes and the choreography were incredibly challenging, and we had members all over the country.
