About this Costume
Construction Details:
This gown was made using a pattern from Norah Waugh's book "The Cut of Women's Clothes." I scaled the pattern from book size to full size and transferred it onto 1" grid paper.

The dress is two pieces: the underskirt (or petticoat) and the overdress. Both are made from a gorgeous two tone peach/pink taffeta, featuring self fabric ruffles and gold ribbon trim with pearls and rhinestones for added decor. The bodice and sleeves are lined with linen.

Under garments consist of stays, hoop pockets (paniers), a chemise, and a cotton petticoat; all were made using Norah Waugh's book "Corsets and Crinolines."
