Construction Details:

Gaara was the second cosplay I made completely on my own. I didn't know much about fabric selection at the time. I just used some of the basic cheap cottons I found at the fabric store for the shirt and pants, and a fishnet fabric for the sleeves. The white sashes were a knit, and the brown sash was a cotton that was interfaced. The gourd was a huge project, I had bought 2 spheres and used news paper and masking take to make the shape of the gourd. Then I paper mached over it and painted the designs on.

Personal Thoughts:

Gaara was one of my first cosplays that I made, and also one of my first real experiences with prop making!
