Construction Details:

It was a fairly simple costume to make with the exception of the wig and hat. The structure of the hat is made with this odd green foam that you usually use for fake plant arrangements. Once the structure was good, I covered it with many layers of paper mâché. When that was done I covered it with my fabric and hot glued the spots which were made from felt.

For the hair I used Styrofoam balls and glued the hair around.

And voila!

Personal Thoughts:

This was my very first "serious business" costume. I wanted it to be awesome!

I decided to make this particular costume because she is my favorite character in Mario Kart Wii. I am pretty good at this game, unbeatable even. Thus, back when I was living in japan and me and my friends all played together, even when I wasn't actually playing the game and Toadette was winning, my friends would curse at me. Everybody associates her to me! I felt it was a really good cosplay to wear to fanime since I was going to see all these friends for the first time since my return from Japan. It felt very nostalgic and it was very funny~
