Construction Details:

I modified a vest pattern for the shirt and made my own patterns for the sleeves and collar. Pants are just regular old pants I made, and the obi is just a strip of fabric that velcroes in the back. The yukata was purchased. The belt and boots were thrift store finds. JUMP is from ebay since apparently they don't publish it in the US anymore. (I could've sworn I'd seen it for sale when I was in middle school, but that was like 10 years ago.)

Personal Thoughts:

The reception this cosplay got was one of my favorite parts of wearing it. As cheesy as it sounds, you could tell that the people who came up to my sister and I were big fans of the series and were really happy to see Gintama cosplayers. A lot of people also seemed really pleased to see that I had JUMP and their reactions to that made me pretty happy too, haha.

It was just really fun to have an excuse to act like a big, lazy idiot. I'm still practicing the fake nose pick.

Styling Notes

It was just a basic short silver wig from ebay. Trimmed the bangs and cut a little of the length off the sides (though looking at pictures I see it could stand to be even shorter, haha). I teased it up to imitate the messy, scruffy look of Gin's hair and sprayed in some spikes to give it the look of some of Gin's cow-licks.
