About this Costume
Construction Details:
I thought rationally and decided to make this costume in layers. So I went and dissected the outfit over and over and over again. I finally decided on how I was going to do it. This is that story.
rnI first started to modify a bra by adding gold lame to it. I then created a panty/bloomer cover and thigh highs out of the same material. This was like a polyester spandex material. I made sure to add elastic to all edges so that it would stay up better. I used the same material to create a headband and painted it.
rnI then started shaping foam to the right sizes for the collar piece and the gold pieces. I then covered them in gold lame with craft glue. I made sure that it fit before adding the closures.
rnFor the body piece I draped a white chiffon rectangle and checked the fit when attaching it to the front of the collar piece. Once properly fitted I glued in place and added an extra small piece of fabric to secure the back. I used large gold O rings to secure the front pieces.
rnI attached the gold belt (foam covered lame) to the top sheer piece. I then cut out two rectangles and added scalloped edges. I attached these to the belt.
rnFor the arm bands I used two gold circled foam pieces and attached black chiffon to those. I used a triangle cut out of the same material and attached it to the wrist cuff and a ring.
rn(UPDATE) I found some pirate coins from a store, painted and attached those to the gold belt thingymabob.
rnI purchased a wig off of ebay AND it is THICK. I wish I remembered the store. Maybe I can check my ebay store. I will update when finding that out. It was the perfect color and then I braided two braids on both sides… btw this is a really heavy wig… :<
rnI found some clear rings at JoAnns that were large enough for her arm dancy thingys. I spray painted them and waited for them to finish. I cut two long strips for her shawl and glued them down. I then marked the spots for five spikes. I created my own spikes with drop beads and eyelets.
rnI used some gold shoes that I owned.
rn
Personal Thoughts:
When I came across this character, I died. I knew I'd cosplay her.
rn
rnJust full of UMS... and YES!
