Construction Details:

I’ve actually been planning this costume since 2007, so the fabric is from an old fabric warehouse that doesn’t even exist anymore. When I dug back into my fabric storage to find it, thankfully, it was the correct type of fabric despite my complete lack of knowledge at the time.

rnI used a kimono pattern for the dark green kimono set underneath, just to get the sleeve shape correct, and all hems were done as a test of my machine’s blind hem function. The captain’s jacket was hand patterned based on the kimono silhouette, so that I could get more flare and bigger sleeves. The diamonds are a heavy white twill, heat-and-bonded to the jacket.

rnThis is my real hair and a hat I’ve had since I was 16 and super excited to find Bleach merchandise in a hot topic (I’m now 25). I borrowed the geta from my Yoruichi, wisecraxx!
