About this Costume

The choker is a ribbon with hook and eyes in the back, the necklace is foam with a cheap dollar store rhinestone.
The dress is some kind of stretchy swimsuit fabric, I went with purple instead of a shade of red because it always seemed more brown than red to me! It's just a simple strapless tube dress. The dress shirt is the wrong side of satin, it actually has 3 or 4 layers of interfacing and buckram in it but because the rest of the shirt is so soft it doesn't really hold up...
The coat is the part I'm the least proud of for sure. Both the outside and lining are the wrong side of velveteen and it wrinkles just from looking at it! It has a seam at the waist and princess seams in the back; the coattails are around 5 yards of fabric pleated down with horsehair braid at the hem... I didn't really do any maths for these, I just pleated where I thought it looked nice! It has 8 to 10 layers of fabric in some spots so I'm proud of my machine for getting through this coat honestly!
The corset doesn't have any boning since it just looks like a big belt to me? I did buy boning but ended up not having to use it. It's interfaced two-way stretch spandex and the lining is the same fabric as the top, the gold is handmade bias tape from gold spandex that I hand sewed on. It closes with a zipper in the back.
I bought satin gloves and cut up/glued the fingertips, the gold is the same as the corset and it's just a spandex tube stretched over a foam base. The socks are also tubes of gold spandex I tacked on to the socks. I bought cheap garters and they wouldn't go through the thick spandex so they're just... sewn on...
I painted the shoes with a mix of acrylic paint and flexible medium so they wouldn't crack too much, but next time I'll buy leather paint for sure. - Personal Thoughts:
- I almost gave up so many times on this cosplay so many times which is kinda funny in retrospect because it wasn't even that hard? I just made some things more complicated than they should have been... stares at velveteen
Also my boobs look so fake I love it
