About this Costume

The fabric choices for this cos were pretty random bc I was on a time crunch and decided to just get whatever fabric that kind of worked at Robert's (LA area ppl HIT HIM UP. I get almost everything there bc it is so cheap and they deal with my crazy demands http://www.yelp.com/biz/robert-textile-los-angeles). So the red overshirt is taffeta, the sash is linen, the ribbon is poly dupioni, idk what the cape is, and the pink is some random mystery fabric that neither I nor Robert & company know.
Yona is canonically wearing a dress, but I did a shirt/skirt combo bc its easier to finish seams with a sewing machine that way imo. The skirt has some horsehair wire in it to give it more floof.
The earrings were made with bunka cord and other jewelry making notions.
The bow was some CRAZY trial and error bc it was so floppy and I was taking all these steps to stiffen it up, so DONT DO IT THIS WAY, but: its foam core covered in EVA mats with thick gauge wire along the edges, covered in paper + wallpaper glue (this is what made it not flop anymore), gessoed, and painted. The string is white elastic that was tea dyed so that it wasn't glaringly white.
Arrows are stained dowels with twine and feathers glued on. The arrow head is craft foam. - Personal Thoughts:
- LOVE this series! So glad I made this costume bc I was able to meet some amazing cosplayers and fans
