About this Costume
- Construction Details:

So... I had everything for almost 1.5 years but I haven't started on the cos until recently because I just found the dark pink fabric. Motivation from the anime just helped pushed me into finding that fabric and making this cos!
The t-shirt was something I bought. I adjusted the length and used that fabric to make a new collar for the shirt. I'm still debating to make it for fitted but it looks fine as is. This was the easiest part of the costume. lol
Everything else was made from scratch. I started off with the jacket first and it was pretty straight forward. The jacket is fully lined. I made the collar as a sailor collar with adjusts for the look of it in the back. It sits funny when I don't wear it properly because I sewed it down to the base of the jacket through the button in the back. Oh well, no one really sees the back anyway? lol The pants were a story on their own. So many panels that I had to add in. I just made a full length pair of pants with extra length. Cut it into sections to make the panels. I added pockets to the pants normally and the cargo pockets on the sides. I had issues with adding the zipper in on one of the legs and had to redo that panel. Aside from that, I am happy with how it turned out! They are not symmetrical sadly... but it's not that noticeable. Armbands and choker were also made from scratch.rnrnThe shoes were painted. Sadly, it look a lot of coats of paint because the shoes are mesh.. Also it has a foam core so it wasn't the best idea to paint it black as it just fell off after wearing it. lol I may or may not touch up the black again, or I will just photoshop it. lol
Goggles are a story on their own. I drafted the pattern on paper and transferred it to craft foam. I then used worbla to make the base of the goggles. After some trial and error, I got the shape it ended up with. I added the button thing in the center of it with a craft foam base covered in worbla. I then gessoed and painted it before adding in the 'lens', which is coloured paper with an acetate cover. I glued the paper star onto the paper lens as well. The fabric around each eye is made of fabric bias tape that was glued onto the goggles. The straps were also glued to the goggles with velcro attached in the back. It stays on my head pretty well with the wig on. I'm glad that I used a long strip of velcro so I could adjust the goggles if needed. - Personal Thoughts:
- Ever since I got into Zexal, I continued with the next season, which is Arc-V. I stopped it but I decided to catch up on it and I'm hooked. I love all the characters so much!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Apparently everything I wrote about this wig disappeared... The base is Arda's Magnum in Maroon. It is darker than it was suppose to be but I didn't mind having a darker scheme for his wig. I didn't do much cutting to this and only trimmed the bangs. The green portion is long clip in bangs from Arda in Olive, I also bought wefts in the same colour to add in extra hair. I clipped the wigs in opposite sides of each other and glued in wefts to hide the separation. I then trimmed everything to make it work. I still need to adjust everything after wearing it finally. The antenna is made from stiff felt and wefts were glued onto it. I had to add wire to it to as it was too heavy to stand on up on its own after gluing the wefts. I covered the wire with wefts. I bent the end of the antenna so it can hook between the two clip in bangs and bobby pinned it to my head. The goggles help keep everything down. lol
