Construction Details:

Materials: Spandex and craft foam armor.

I went the rout of actually armored bracers, than incorporating them into the bias tape. I felt a spear man needed more armor than just his shoulders. But hey, it still looks halfway decent.

Many fingers and my pride were wounded in the making of this costume. I think I was impaled with pins about as many times as he's been impaled by his own spear.

Personal Thoughts:

Lancer is pretty much my spirit animal. I had wanted to cosplay him with the original anime, back in 2006. It wasn't until much later my group of friends found interest in Fate, long after I'd delved into the visual novel. But they finally gave me the push to make this bad boy. And I'm glad I waited until I had more experience. Spandex is pretty much the root of all evil, I'm convinced. Memo to self, never make bias tape out of it ever again. But he was worth it!

Styling Notes

Wefts were sewn into the back for the pony tail. Heat and hair spray used to style the bangs back and feather spikes into the rear for anime mullet goodness.

A+ blue mullet. Would mullet again.
