Construction Details:

Materials: The fabric is made of wedding fabric found at Joann's; I know wedding dresses are usually white, but I decided on a slight beige to best fit my skin tone. This dress was my first attempt in using materials such as boning for the chest, but I had help from a couple of seamstress friends who taught me not only to put in the pieces but also sewing specific parts together. rnrnThe veil was made from a pink headband I purchased at Micheal's and fabric I found at Hancock Fabrics. The veil materials were very limited, but as soon as I saw the one with pink glitter rose patterns, I knew it would be perfect! rnrnThe roses for the bouquet, necklace and veil were purchased at Micheal's, and they had the morning dew look I was looking for - gotta look fresh for the big day! rnrnWig was purchased at Arda Wigs in Candy Striper. rnrnThe pony ears and horn were purchased from Yaya Han's online store. As for the wedding band, it is actually a brass ring that is usually for constructing purses! rnrnThe wings were designed and crafted by me: I made 3 layers of craft foam so the wings looked textured, spray painted them in an ombre, added glitter glue and bedazzling jewels. The harness was made of recycled wire used for hanging clothes wrapped in pink ribbon. Finally I attached pink elastic bands to have the wings worn like a backpack.rnShoes were gold party shoes, purchased at Goodwill.rnrnTime to construct: About one month, due to work schedule.

Personal Thoughts:

I love the royal ponies from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Luna is a favorite, but I absolutely love Princess Cadence! She has a very sweet and loving personality and I love how Twilight Sparkle adores her for her like an older sister and role model. Cadence reminds me of who I am and want to be: a leader, a fighter, a role model… and spreading love wherever I go. :)rnrnMihoki and I planned on cosplaying as a couple, but never did he think that he would become a brony in the process! While there were times when he wouldn’t admit it at first, I knew that he would enjoy the series as well as cosplaying Shining Armor. rnrn…aaaaaaaaand if worse comes to worst, if I need a wedding dress on my wedding day, I already have one, haha! rn
