Construction Details:

I made the tops, and Steph made the skirts, bows, and hats! The conversation basically happened in five minutes... "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE SLEEVES" "I'LL DO IT, WILL YOU DO THE SKIRTS" "YES" "HERE TAKE MY OLD SAILOR MERCURY BOOTS" "ARE YOU SURE" "JUST CUT THEM, JUST DO IT" We found some stretch jersey and low sheen-satin at joann's- but they didn't have the right blue color for my skirt, so I ended up finding it at a tiny fabric store on the lower east side in Manhattan! The jersey was very thin and slippery and I had a lot of trouble keeping it flat at first and was very very frustrated

Personal Thoughts:

Steph really wanted to cosplay for Anime Boston, and I decided to come with her last minute, so we cobbled these together in less than a week! In hindsight it would have been great to have started at least a week before but we just wanted to wear them for fun, and I'm really happy we wore them together! I had some dark red contacts for another cosplay that I'd never opened that I was going to wear with them, but when I wore them... they were RX!? so no contacts this time >o< I was disappointed but... I couldn't... see I used a wig I had lying around that I bought from amazon a year ago and never wore, I wasn't crazy about it but I have a new one now! I'd like to get some new photos with it later and with contacts!
