Construction Details:

This is quite possibly the most difficult costume I've made so far - that jacket defies reason! My total time put in was roughly 234 hours, and I feel like there is still more I could do.

Each layer of the armored chest piece was made separately, then joined together by hand - in order to get it to lie flat, I had to sew around every little point. o_o; The trim also had to be tacked by hand after sewing to lie flat, so every place there is trim, there was more handsewing. And the sleeves were also sewn on by hand! I think there is more handsewing in this one costume than I've done in my entire life so far.

My feathers were also handmade, as I wanted to get that specific shape and curve that Kuja's feathers have. :)

Personal Thoughts:

I was asked to join Cirque du Cosplay for their Masquerade skit at Katsucon as Kuja - I am SO happy that I was given the opportunity to meet and work with such an amazing group of cosplayers!

Final Fantasy IX is a true gem in the RPG world. I love so much about it!!
