About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The hat, cloak and tunic were completely hand-made. I chopped up a cream colored turtleneck for the collar and used a gray long-sleeved shirt for the underlayer. The arm bands were silver spandex (2014) and are now carved and dyed leather (2015). I'm working on improving the gloves and rings. As a joke at Ohayocon I wore a t-shirt that says "On My Way to S-Support Your Man" under the tunic and it ended up improving the way the costume sat on me by about 1000% so I'm going to keep doing that. The belt is wonderflex and vinyl. The pants were yellow linen pants that I custom dyed, then added the suede side parts to. The boots were a constant source of ire to me. I spent about 500 years patterning and painstakingly sewing and painting the boot covers, only for me to ruin them about 5 minutes into Otakon 2014. Now I am just settling for a pair of plain brown boots I bought on clearance at Target because I am 500% done with boot covers right now. The book is my favorite part of the whole costume. It's a fake/hollow book I just made a book cover for. I can carry my cell phone/3DS, money/snacks/whatever else around with me and don't have any visible pockets. The only thing I can't do is carry my camera because my current camera is a huge clunky piece of crap.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Miriel is me. I too am a total nerd that deadpans all of my jokes. Also this costume is super comfortable to wear, and like Rider has become an ongoing challenge for me. I try to improve it a little bit from convention to convention, adding things, changing things, etc.

- This is the most comfortable wig I've ever worn in my entire life, 10/10
