Construction Details:

The jacket is made out of pink and grey/blue cotton, a thin layer of batting, and Kona red cotton. I drafted the pattern for the jacket. The shirt is also made from cotton and I used a basic blouse pattern and then added some frilly details. Shorts, tights, and boots I already owned. The jewelry pieces were originally clear gems that I painted with nail polish. Calcifer is made out of a tap light, some red and yellow transparent plastic gift bags, hot glue, and fabric paint for his face.

Personal Thoughts:

Like most people, I really love Miyazaki movies, and Howls Moving Castle is one of my favorites. I chose to make a female version of Howl primarily because I already had a long blond wig and I didn't want to have to buy a wig or cut that one.
