I patternend every piece for this costume myself
The head/ears were made from cotton, and I lined a wire through the antennas to make them moveable. I used ironed on jewels for the detailing. The pink tail is made from satin and is 16 individual diamonds of 3 varying sizes.
I made the sleeves from a yellow satin and lined it brown suede that already had a beautiful gold design on it. The pentagonal patterns are also that same fabric. There is brown fleece in between the satin and the lining to give it more structure.
The top is made from the same yellow satin and a brown fabric that I got from a friend. The brown has a floral pattern ingrained into it. I made custom bias tape from the brown suede and bought the black tassel and clasp from Joann.
The shorts are made from the same floral designed brown fabric and a brown velveteen. I also used the pink satin for the diamonds on the front of the shorts.
The pink puff balls were made from a pink fluffy trim I found in Joann. The shoes, brown tights, and gloves were purchased (I dont remember where from).
I made the prop from a wooden rod and a paper mache'd styrofoam ball, sealed with modge podge. It's painted with regular acrylic paint. - Personal Thoughts:
- I LOVED making this costume! And wearing it. It still needs some updates but this is probably my favorite costume to date.
