About this Costume
Construction Details:
Most of the costume is made from Joann's biking red sateen. The yellow bits are the wrong side of a yellow casa satin, and the glove trim is a custom gold bias made from more satin. The shirt was freehanded from my own measurements, and it was RIDICULOUS to figure out that weird open neckline, but it's very comfy. The pants I used an elastic waistband suit-pants pattern for and cuffed at the ends to keep them from slipping out of my armor. The gloves were made from a Butterick pattern without the finger pieces, and the cape is a half-circle. The cape was trimmed with custom bias made from the same fabric (why?) and lined with the same fabric. The weird neck petals were weird to make, but it all worked out in the end. I traced the circle of the cape's neckline and did the petals along it, interfacing them heavily so they wouldn't droop. The cape band fastens with a snap.

The red armor (shins, knees, thighs) is all craft foam sealed with Mod Podge, sprayed with plasti-dip, and spray-painted red before adding the yellow accents. The knee guards are sewn down on two sides of the shinguards so they don't move. The silver armor (belt, arm bracers) were made with worbla, but they sent me the wrong size so I didn't have enough for all of it. The bracers attach with elastic and slide on and off my arms. The sword was purchased on Amazon and painted in a hurry. It's actually meant for Prince Philip, I just didn't have time to make a new sword for Anna yet.
Personal Thoughts:
Oh, this costume was a PAIN at times but it was a learning experience! Fire Emblem costumes make damn close to zero sense. I'd never worked with worbla before, so I'm glad I have that experience out of the way so that hopefully from here on out I can improve. I definitely want to get better with armor, and this gave me the drive to push forward!

Styling Notes
DUMB HAIRCUT. It was really difficult to get the perfect shape in the front without the ends looking too blunt and coating it in hairspray. not a fan of the new Jeannies' bangs.
