About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I made a new sleeveless bust-piece with snap-in petal sleeves. Those sleeves are made of iridescent fabric that I fused clear-vinyl onto. They were a pain in the butt to make and layer correctly. The skirt is made of three different knits that were annoying to sew (and iron) together. The brooch was a gashapon prize that I drilled two holes into the back of and laced elastic through so it could slip onto the bow. The skirt-brooch is worbla covered in metallic stretch fabric and sewn onto the skirt.
Odango covers by Zan! I also used her tutorial to make my tiara. - Personal Thoughts:
- This was a costume I've been wanting to do for years, but never got around to it. If you look back, I did make a wig for this version of her years back, but never did anything again with it (eventually sold it). This year being the year of ~Moon Dreams~, I finally pushed myself to make it! I'm quite proud of the costume overall! This skirt was actually my second attempt at it and was luckily made with enough spare fabric (glad I buy too much!)

- Styling Notes
- The base is a Chibi, with pigtails teased entirely into cotton-candy poofs. Long Curly Clips (that were trimmed later) are attached on top via tying the elastic (no clips). I used Hairbuns from Arda, stuffed em a bit to be the right shape, and tied them around the pigtails. I also trimmed the bangs and styled them a bit with curlers to get some volume.
