About this Costume
Construction Details:
The underdress is a deep purple cotton with an almost full circle skirt that I distressed to match San's in the movie. The apron is an oatmeal linen that I wrinkled and distressed. It goes over the head and attaches at the waist. The pelt is a designer two-tone long fur and attaches at the shoulders. The mask and ears were hand sculpted and painted by me. I drilled holes so they could be sewn into the pelt. The head and arm bands are black leather with white pearl discs. The earrings were hand-made by me using white shells. The necklace is lava beads and real wolf teeth. The booties are textured cotton with elastic bands to hold them on.
Personal Thoughts:
San was a cosplay I had planned back when I first started cosplaying and never had the confidence in myself to complete the way I wanted it. When Claire De Lune and I had the idea to gather the Ghibli Girls as a group for Anime Expo I knew exactly who I wanted to be. This costume was a huge challenge for me but one of the most fun projects I've completed and one of my proudest accomplishments in cosplay.

Styling Notes
The wig started as a short layered brown wig from eBay. The photo looked like it was perfect but naturally once I put it on it looked like a mullet so I put it on a wig head with the headband on and shellacked the top down then I choppily cut the bottom and flared it out to get that bell shape San's hair has in the movie.
