I'm super proud of how this turned out. This costume was a lot of firsts for me and I'm so glad with how it looks. There's still a few details that I ran out of time for before NYCC, but I hope to add them in for when I wear her again for Katsucon. First time making a corset. It was the part I was dreading the most, but it turned out a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. It's made of a really pretty dupioni, lined with cotton, with canvas sandwiched in between. Then overlayed with some sort of iridescent lame? I then cut various fabrics I had on hand for the rectangles on her bodice and heat and bonded them on. I bedazzled it a bit with some rhinestones and snowflake sequins.Skirt is a silk chiffon over crepe-backed satin. The skirt proved to be the most challenging because of the silk chiffon. It's very tricky to use >___oThe cape was this really pretty stretch mesh that I found in a random fabric store several towns from where I live. I am in love with Brittney Lee's concept art of Elsa and the blue-purple gradient of this mesh reminded me of her art, so I wanted to replicate it. I only managed to do the large snowflake on the cape. It's cut out of the same iridescent lame I used as the overlay on the corset and heat and bonded on.Undershirt is a light blue stretch mesh. The shoes are plain white pumps that I painted and covered in glitter and snowflake sequins~
- Personal Thoughts:
- Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to be a Disney princess. I stepped it up and became a queen instead~Lol I know, I know. Bandwagon cosplay. I wanted to cosplay her as soon as the first HD image of her was released before the movie came out.
