Construction Details:

I was inspired to make this costume after seeing Megan Lara's "Absinthe" design. I decided to mix it with the style of Alphonse Mucha in an art nouveau costume of Absinthe.

The dress is three cascading layers of green chiffon and georgette (fashioned after Padme's Lake Dress from "Star Wars"). The top is a halter-style tie back with ribbons, and features green ribbon and gold chain/bead shoulder details. For the train, I used a gorgeous iridescent foil-dot green chiffon; it is fully detachable at the dress back using Velcro, and at the wrists using magnetic closures on the bracelets. The front plate is made of Sintra and is decorated with rhinestones, gold chain, beads, and iridescent bubbles to mimic effervescence. The crown is made of craft foam and cardboard and is heavily decorated with rhinestones.

I really like this costume, even though it is very simplistic. I feels very slinky and sumptuous.
