About this Costume
Construction Details:
From head to toe:

The wig was styled by me. I sewed in extra wefts so I'd have more to play with for volume, especially in the bangs. I poofed the bangs out and ended up re curling the whole wig but brushed them out so they weren't too big.

The tiara was a collaborative effort between Melanie and I. We experimented with different gem ideas but in the end went with the simple method of just painting the back of clear resin jewels with a little bit of glitter inside. The paint I used is Jaquard Lumiere in Halo Blue Gold. The tiara base is wonderflex that is molded to the shape of our heads. It's a nice gold paint and some glitter paint in the center. There's also elastic on the inside, which make it easier to pin.

I'm wearing Beaucon Vibrant Match Blue for the lenses. They're just as the name implies, which I needed.

The choker is similar to the tiara in construction. The neck piece is glued onto the choker with E6000.

The fuku collar is from a preexisting pattern I made for Sailor Mars years ago. Glad I kept it! The bow construction is the same as my Sailor Mars one as well, which I still liked. The back bow got a bit heavy so I put in wire along the top so it could be bent to stay up! I used a similar method for hair a couple years ago!

The leotard was from a pattern by Green Pepper (I might be wrong about this but I think that's the company name?). I also made a piece to go over the breast part, which was some good trial and error. The shoulder rolls are 1/2" foam that I rolled and sewed together. I hand-sewed it all closed since it's too thick for my machine. Same with the hiprolls.

The skirt is lined, which is a huge improvement from my Sailor Mars cosplay. The lining actually helped with the volume for the skirt.

The gloves are from a pattern I held onto. The wrist cuffs are from a pattern I created. I put tape on my arm and drew on the shape I wanted, cut it out, and boom! That's my pattern.

The shoes are painted with Angelus Leather paint in a combination of three colors. I also made my own straps and hand-sewed those to the shoes. I'm glad I color matched it well!

The mirror was done by my wonderful boyfriend. He's amazing! (http://instagram.com/chippopotamus222)
Personal Thoughts:
My best friend Melanie (other half of the SLA cosplay group) and I had always had Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune planned. We cosplayed as Mars & Jupiter a few years ago and hoped that one day all four of us could be the outer senshi. Unfortunately, two of our besties live too far to make this happen but when NYCC 2014 came around, we figured that these would be easy to tackle in the amount of time we had before the con. We did it!
