About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
This costume's jacket was made by my mother and boyfriend on 2008, trousers, shirt and necktie was bought. I just borrowed it for a few hours x'D
- Personal Thoughts:
- As I said before, I don't crossplay much, but this is one of those rare exceptions: the character I'm cosplaying here is a genderbent version of my adored Mikuru Asahina from the Suzumiya Haruhi series. I first cosplayed Mitsuru on 2008, as part of what probably was one of the best moments I ever enjoyed on a cosplay stage (Spanish only, sorry! http://youtu.be/DqvpJ101ubs ). Unfortunately, and even though it was mostly a joke cosplay, I didn't have pictures of it but always wanted at least one D: And so, before leaving Spain, I borrowed my boyfriend's uniform, put on the camera's timer and after that made this photo my own photoshopping experiment.
Editing cosplay photos is another part of this hobby I enjoy, and so this one served as an exercise to see how far I could go, and if this japanese-porcelain-skin-thingie was suited for me XD (just let me say that of course, this wasn't taken on a clasroom, but on my own bedroom :P) Although I learned a lot of things while working on it, it also made me realize that I prefer a more natural approach to photo edition ^^u But I hope you like it anyway!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Wig was cut, styled and tamed with hairdryer, hot water and a LOT of patience, since it was the worst party wig I had the pleasure to work with. It also has quite a few wefts added to hide the bald spots.
- Wig Review
- The point of using these wigs was mocking them in the skit, but for sentimental reasons I decided to reuse it for the photo, I guess? XD Anyway, worst wig ever, I'm still surprised it looks half decent...
