About this Costume

I'm currently in the process of redoing this cause I really HATE this costume as it is right now!!!
I made this after my 1st and 2nd time of seeing Frozen! When they announced that they were realeasing a sing along version in theatres I banged this out so I could wear it to the premiere :D
Bodice: The bodice was made using the same pattern that I used for Rapunzel just altered a little! :D I made it using stretch velvet (NEVER AGAIN), Duck Cloth for the Interlining, and cotton for the lining. I used Tulip fabric paints to paint the design on the front and back, mostly just freehanding it using my Anna Disney Story Doll. I also used this tan/goldish suede as handmade bias tape on the top, bottom and armholes. It also closes in the back with a zipper.
Undershirt: For the undershirt I used this Mandarin Collared blouse pattern which is really fabulous!!! Its made out of Aquamarine knit material and I used acryllic and Tulip fabric paint for the details. And I sewed a Ribbon along the edges. It closes in front with velcro :D
Skirt: The skirt was made out of Royal Blue cotton using the same circle skirt pattern I used for Rapunzel! For the scallops on the bottom I used a light blue cotton which I dyed to have a bit more of an indigo tint :D to make the scallops I used a big cup to trace the scallops. I topstitched the scallops onto the bottom of the skirt and voila! For the embroidered designs I again used freezer paper stencils and used tulip fabric paint and acrylic paint to paint the designs :D
Cape: For the cape I altered a Regina Once Upon a Time Pattern and made it out of Fuschia Flannel! I dyed it more of a magenta color but I'm not too crazy about it! It is unlined, and to make the edging I used a toilet paper cylinder and traced a long line of scallops and hand dyed it to be a purple color. After cutting all the cutouts and scallops I used fabric glue to glue it to the cape! I hand sewed hooks and eyes to close the cape at the top and made a clip out of clay (I have since redone it out of sculpy and it looks SO much better!)
Hat and Gloves: I used a winter hat and gloves pattern. I altered the hat pattern to have more of a pointed end on the sides. I made it out of the same material I made the cape out of! I also hand dyed some bias tape for the edging and used some fur I got from Hancocks :D And I painted the design on the back with fabric paints :D For the gloves all I did was cut around my hand on some aquamarine colored fleece and sewed them together. I then used fabric paint to paint the design on the outside!
Boots: I bought some black boots last winter from Pennys and then realized they would be PERFECT for Anna! I painted the bottom of the boots using a tulip paint magenta color and Free hand painted the Gold design on them using acryllic paint :D They have since been repurposed for another Anna cosplay and I have a new pair of boots :D - Personal Thoughts:
- Okay so I followed Frozen from the VERY beginning! From the moment it was announced and the creepy Elsa concept art was released! So yeah I've been on the band wagon for a LONG time :D And from the moment Anna came on screen I just felt an instant connection and was like OMG that's me!!!
