Construction Details:

Unfortunatley on the day of my shoot my xacto knife made a cut along one of the boob areas so this costume needs some TLC but its held up amazingly! rnrnDress: I used a Butterick Renaissance pattern to make the dress which needed some altering cause it was princess style but I needed it to be shorter so that I could run and play like Merida! I made the dress out of this greenish teal I'm not exactly sure what the fabric was! It was thick like twill but not as stiff! I'm sorry I got it from wal mart! and I designed the sleeves myslef which turned out to be a real challenge!!! If I ever redo the dress I will use the simplicity Merida Pattern :DrnrnUndershirt: This turned out to be a hard task as the pattern I used had a really awkward armhole. But it'll do! I made it out of gauze and it looks REALLY nice!rnrnAcc.: For shoes I just wore some boots I have at home :D And for the bow and quiver I bought the Disney Store set :D And I also got a KILLER deal on some Hamish, Hubert, and Harris plushes from the Disney Store :D

Personal Thoughts:

Okay so from the moment I saw Brave I was immediately touched by the story! How Merida and Elinor reconciled and truly understood each other was just an amazing story! And I was immediately drawn to the fiery Princess :D
