Due to the lack of references online, it made it difficult to make this costume accurately. I eventually found out about the OVA and downloaded that for screenshots. This made it easier to visualize how it looked. I eventually found a full body design sketch but it was too late when I made the inner dress into two pieces instead of two.
Aside from that, it wasn't that hard to pattern. It was a lot of trial and error on things. I was worried that the twill and satin wouldn't look good together but it worked out in the end. I also created and used ribbon for the thinner lines, which aren't evenly spaced sadly on the main jacket. I'm also starting to use premade bias tape too so it made it easier as well.
The armour pieces are made of worbla with a craft foam center. There wasn't any issues with those. I need to readjust the one at the neck but aside from that, they are fine as is.
The arm bands and wrist bands were the hardest I think for this entire cos. It was more trial and error if anything. I'm ok with the outfit but I may want to shorten the arm bands. At least, somehow adjust them. - Personal Thoughts:
- I really liked her Undine version more than her SAO version so I decided to do this one with the fabric I originally purchased. It was just more appealing to me? I don't know how to explain it. LOL
