About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The bodice is a functional corset with 13 channels of boning, with canvas midlining, cotton lining and suede on the outside. The details were my first time doing hand-embroidery!
The skirt was done with a circle-skirt pattern, made from a wool blend with linen applique along the bottom. The flower patterns were done via Freezer Paper stencils and matte fabric paint.
Cloak is made from felt with a midlining and cotton lining to give it a nice flow. The applique was applied with iron-on adhesives and the little details were painted with more Freezer Paper stencils.
Shirt was found at a thrift store and was originally white. Two different dye jobs got it to just the right color and then the sleeves were butchered and resewn to look more accurate. The detail stitching was added with my sewing machine.
Boots were the ugliest paisley rainboots I've ever seen, repainted over. Wig was purchased on eBay and the white weft was sewn from an old pack from Cosworx. - Personal Thoughts:
- I have never put so much effort into a costume before I started on Anna. But when her concept art was first released, I knew right away that I wanted to make her winter outfit.
