About this Costume
Construction Details:
Making the hiogi fan was challenging, but I am so glad that I did! It is the first time I have made a prop such as this one.

The hairpins were fun to make and are based off of the artwork by Tanemura Arina from the manga.

I love the colors for this cosplay too, and the color scheme is based off of one on display in a musuem in Kyoto. The colors worn by noblity of Heian Japan reflected the colors of the season. I based mine off of a color scheme representing early spring.
Personal Thoughts:
I love Tanemura Arina's art style, and I also love the kimono of the Japanese Heian era. Since I love to do cosplay that is not often done, this was a lot of fun for me. The kimono of the Heian Era deserves more love, but it is certainly not the easiest outfit to wear! This was a cosplay I have looked forward to for years!
