About this Costume

Like Zelda and Zant, this costume debuted AX'09 but I have completely redone the entire costume. The new debut date was Sakura-Con 2010 and then it was later redone again last year.
The shirt and pants are a dark grey cotton fabric with the black details appliqued on. I also added the sheep sherpa material to the cuff of the shorter sleeve and ran a tiny maroon twist cord through the whole sleeve. I used the same color of twist cord, just a few sizes larger as the tie around the waist. The beige cuffs and sash are a similar cotton as the shirt with the orange and green designs appliqued. The cape is a navy crepe lined with a maroon satin and gold appliqued designs on the back.
Now the armor, omg the armor... Ha ha! This has been a huge work in progress ever since we started this costume. Originally we were using the Brawl trophy to help us with the details and designs we couldn't find photos of, but the resolution wasn't that great, so we ended up having to make up our own designs. Once the new resin statue came out I took my chances to make everything as accurate as possible.
The armor started out as a base in funfoam, then covered in wonderflex. Once I had the shape I liked, I covered it in layers of gesso, and then used fun foam again as the raised designs and then painted it with gesso as well. Once all the gesso was dry and sanded, I set out to paint the monster. I actually tried a new weathering technique this last redo and am so happy with it. I think it makes the gold designs really pop. All of the gems are resin casts, I also used really small rhinestones for some of the details on the crown, pauldrons, and gauntlets.
I also made a custom ear mold for EVZombie's Ganon as part of the redo. They are actually the exact same ear mold as the Groose ears, just green. :D
The crown and headpiece was a collaboration between EVZombie and I. It's a Fire Red Amphigory wig for the base of the hair and the actual crown itself is a detachable piece that rests on his head with a metal headband.
