Construction Details:

I used the rest of my chiffon from my Cinderella gown for make the ties and the tail for Wartortle. I decided to burn the edges for a more textured look.
I got polyester and spandex to make the main parts of the outfit ( kimono shirt, skirt, sash, leg and arm warmers ) I got a brown material randomly and used the strongest interfacing to create the shell. I cut out a design and then sewn it on. I used the rest of the polyester material to create a border on the shell.

… Eventually I'll add more definitive detailing like the picture on the shell.

I got blue feathers and glued them down, added big blue gradient dyed roses, mardi gras beads and made the head dress. Lastly I included some extra chiffon straps to complete the look.

Personal Thoughts:

Dear god.. I was able to make it in time for Anime Expo 2014.
As soon as people started posting up designs from Cowslip. I fell in love with so many. I really wanted to do this one first… but I didn't get my props done in time.. OH WELL. It's super easy to wear.
