Construction Details:

Mask: I bought a plastic opera mask from Joann's then sculpted the general faceshape onto it using celluclay. After it dried, I sanded it down a bit then used a blend of stretch lycra to cover it and create a more natural skin like look. The fabric was used to make a whole mask. The eyeballs were made from plastic ornament balls that were painted and glued into the mask.

Top shirt: The shirt was sewn from pleather and I used a combination of feather boa and looks feathers to create his should pads.

Hands: I sewed gloves with long spindly fingers that could be worn beyond my natural fingertips to give the long limb look.

Pants: Pretty basic leather pants were sewn here.

Boots: Found some awesome punk boots to wear with this

Belt: My belt I sewed using googly eyes for the lumps and cube beads for trim. All other skull details were sculpted with sculpy and painted.

Personal Thoughts:

I really enjoyed Death Note and found the design of Ryuk to be an interesting challenge to make and fun to try as something very different! And different indeed it was. XD My only regret was not putting in velcro to hold my wig in place.
