About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Jacket: I made the jacket with pleather using wire at the bottom hem to help it flare out. The little cape is directly sewn to it and the jacket also has a small patch that the wings hook into. The collar crown was laser cut from acrylic then glued together.
Pants: Also made from pleather, I stuffed the thighs with batting to give them their puffy shape. They then taper down to be more fitted around the calves and have the red ribbon wrap around them.
Shoe covers: I built the shoes around an old pair of sneakers that could be taken it. It's sewn like a giant pillow similar to Mickey Mouse shoes you can buy at Disneyland!
Gloves: I modified a Vogue glove pattern with gussets to have the fingers end more like claws then sewed the grey Xs on the back.
Shirt: I found white striped fabric and dyed it grey to achieve the pattern. Worked out great!
Mask: I modified a woven basket bottom and filled in the weaving along with shaping the horns with celluclay. After sanding it down, I hand painted the face pattern onto it.
Keyblade: I laser cut the keyblade out of 1/4" acrylic and then dremeled a dowel to have a slot for the blade to fit in. Using epoxy putty, the keyblade very sturdily stayed in place in the dowel slot. Then the whole thing was spray painted black. The pumpkin was a standard fake pumpkin you can buy in a floral ship. I attached hook hardware I bought at Home Depot to attach the chain and pumpkin.
Wings: I built a wire frame for the wings then used spray adhesive on the back side of pleather to attach the fabric to the frame. - Personal Thoughts:
- Love the look of this whole costume and got super into Kingdom Hearts so I had to make it! Especially love his mini cape. XD
