About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The vest's pattern was drafted by a friend, and we put the whole thing together using blue silk fabric (with the wrong side out because I love how it looked), and yellow bias tape (?) for the lining. The vest stays closed with a few fisheye hooks. I painted the designs on the front and the back.
The bodysuit was bought from Activewear4U.
The bracelets were made by me, using faux leather straps that were cut to size for my wrist, and silver rounded studs installed into it. They fasten close with velcro and stay on excellently.
The shoes were a super lucky find on eBay. - Personal Thoughts:
- This outfit is technically not done, because I never sewn the stripes that run up the side onto the suit. But, I've always, ALWAYS loved this outfit of Chunners better than the original. The original looks nice too, but it's extremely played out. This one is definitely a favorite. I want to get a new bodysuit, one that fits very tightly, and then sew the stripes on. But this costume is still active.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- This wig was originally a long curly wig. The bang was cut and styled, and then the longer parts of the hair were gently ironed straight, braided and then twisted into buns, and fastened by hair pins, and then decorated with two yellow ribbons like in the reference photos.
- Wig Review
- I like this wig a lot. I might redo the buns at some point, but I really do like this wig.
