About this Costume
Construction Details:
The jacket, and shirt designs were all made by hand, sewing machine, painting you name it. I lead the group in putting the fabric choosing/patterns/designs/steps together so we could complete them, but everyone did their part of sewing, etc. :D Jo (Makoto) made the stencils, and I drew them up to vectorize later.

Rei Jacket:
- Fabric:: Polyester poplin for body.
- Details: Butterflies were cut using a stencil, and heat n bonded together, then to the jacket.
- Lining: All of our lining was found on etsy from various sellers. We wanted more than a plain inside, and added a spin/detail/too much detail xD by using lining with the character's image animal. Rei's being the butterfly. We chose this very un-subtle pattern to go with the outfit.

Rei Shirt:
- Shirt: Purchased baseball shirts on ebay.
- Details: All details were applied using Setacolor fabric paint. Lots of layers, and use of stencils to make the images on the shirt. The result turned out a lot nice this way, since we could control the color.

Accessories: Most were bought, or I had from other cosplays.

Duration: 6 months to complete. But only 1 - 2 months of serious working time I believe.

Personal Thoughts:
Managed to get 3 of my good friends to cosplay this with me. The jacket and the shirt took a lot of work, but through all of the stressfulness of coordinating schedules, and loss of sleep (as usual), we all came out really happy with the end product, in time for our 2nd deadline: Fanime 2014.
