About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I drafted the patterns on my body form and then I got started. From the beginning I had in mind a stretch satin in mind, that I ordered in dark purple from spandexworld.com. I decided to go all silver for the details as seen on the original show colored as a light blue. The collar, vambraces, arm bands, belt and anklets are craftfoam covered in metallic foil spandex using contact cement.
I edged all the edges with clear elastic. The boot covers were made of craftfoam and satin.
The helmet is made of two layers of worbla with craftfoam sandwiched in between. The crest was also made this way. I then used gesso and filler primer to smooth it out with a sanding sponge. It was sprayed with black gloss enamel. Which I hadn't worked with before but I really like. I used hammered finish spray paint with purple on top. All the silver painting was done with Krylon Premium Chrome finish.
The cape is 2-way stretch velvet, straight from the bolt, draped for the opening in the back. It was hand stitched to the leotard and mostly hand hemmed.
The ram horns around my breast are made of air dry clay. Which I will never use again for a final product. It breaks way too easily. - Personal Thoughts:
- Yay, another villain for me! I was approached to do this cosplay for a group because they did not have an Evil-Lyn yet and they had seen Evil-Lyn on my to-do cosplay list. So I decided to put her next on the list. Also this is my first cleavage and sexy cosplay! So that was really fun!
I designed the overall look myself taking inspiration from Adam Hughes rendition and many other artists' interpretations.
