About this Costume

I wanted to stay true to the actual costume as much as possible yet still remaining feminine; so a lot of thought actually went into the design.
I find that most women's jackets are very tailored which look great when standing still but aren't very functional, say, in a knife fight. Not only are jackets limiting in mobility but they also move around a lot and can be unflattering and just simply get in the way. So I wanted to do a full leotard so not only could I be flexible in my movement, but nothing would get in the way because it's all one large piece. Making it a high cut leg hole was not only more aesthetically pleasing in order to break up all the black, but was a nod to one of the most badass women in anime: Motoko from Ghost in the Shell.
The leotard is made from a very thin stretch vinyl that was a bitch to work with. Like I mentioned, it was extremely thin so I had to double it up which made it even warmer to wear. I patterned the leotard out myself and tried to make the collar as close as possible to the movie. It zips up in the front and all the straps actually snap in place.
The pants are thick motocross work pants that I dyed. Unfortunately, color doesn't like to stick to those pants so they ended up being a very dark green instead of black. OOPS On top of that, every time I wear the pants, they turn my legs and butt green. DOUBLE OOPS
All the holsters are made from EVA foam that I carved and coated with PlastiDip. The straps were then added and I put in all the eyelets as well. Belt was bought and modified. Mask and goggles were also bought.
Kneepads were made from scratch out of foam, Worbla, D-rings and elastic. Tried to make the design as close as possible to the movie but I think I made it slightly too big. wah wah
I tried to get as many of the weapons as accurate as possible. I managed to get the Sig P226, COP 357, the Skorpion machine pistol, and the Gerber Mk II. For the life of me, I couldn't find the TEC-38 so I sculpted it. I have a M16-A9 which is as close as I can find to the rifle he is handed, but it still lacks the grenade launcher attachment. The back knives don't match either but I'm hoping to upgrade those at some point.
The arm is still a work in progress. The one on the photos is actually completely different than the one I am really working on. This was just a place holder since the method I'm using took a lot longer than expected. This version is a stretch PVC sleeve with Worbla and a shit ton on paint. haha - Personal Thoughts:
- EVERYTHING MUST BE TACTICAL
YET NOTHING IS ACTUALLY TACTICAL
