About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The skirt, bodice and coattail are made from a suiting fabric in cornflower blue. The skirt, armbands, spanks and coat tail were all drafted by me, while the bodice was modified from a corset top pattern. I used about four packs of extra wide navy bias tape to trim the bodice, coat tail and skirt. The bodice has two linings - a muslin lining for the boning and a casa satin lining for aesthetic. The pouch is made from vinyl and had the yellow bias tape hand stitched on. It's lined and fully functional and I used it to carry an emergency sewing kit to help my fellow Masquerade entrants. The gem was molded from a custom silicon mold while the smaller gems were cast with a paint pallet.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This cosplay was made to go with my friends' Cure Peace and Cure March, but I have yet to wear this with them XD I'm hoping to have a full group someday, with a Cure Sunny and Cure Happy.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The wig started out as an Inigo in Royal Blue from Arda. It was straightened and cut short in layers. Three packs of wefts were sewn into the wig - a pack of short wefts for the front tails and two packs of long wefts sewn into the back for the back four tails. The hair spools are made from scrap plastic pillars used for cake decorating painted gold. The wings are made from Fimo Air Light, sanded down with up to 800 grain sand paper, painted white and sealed with acrylic. The crown is made of craft foam and worbla that was gessoed and sanded to a smooth finish.
