About this Costume
Construction Details:
I spent most of my winter break on this. And I'm still digging sequins out of the carpet.
The shirt was adapted from the top of a skating dress. The neckline and upper arms are decorated with heat-set crystals.
I used a pre-sequined net for the overlays and the cape. The corset base is a white twill, lightly boned with plastic boning and laces in the back. Layers of tulle and sparkly chiffon add some depth to it.
The skirt was adapted from a princess-line dress pattern. The base is a sparkly blue cotton spandex material that I found on clearance at Jo-Ann.
The cape has a seam down the middle and I added some snowflake shapes to the underside to emulate the design seen in the movie. I've since added a layer of iridescent organza to the underside to give it more body and add a little more shimmer to it.
Personal Thoughts:
This one is so much fun. Who doesn't want to feel like a sparkly queen? Photos by Unlimited Photography Works.
