Construction Details:

The fabric I used for the hair bow and dress was called "premium quality quilting fabric" (or something similar to that, it was a fabric that's $9/yard regular price at Joann Fabrics). After I made the hair bow, I hot glued silver gems to it. My white shirt was pre-owned (which I also use for my Yukari cosplay). I used a store bought pattern for the top of the dress. The non-pleated layer of the bottom is a rectangle skirt (I thought it would be easier for attaching the pleated layer). I made box pleats on the bottom layer, starched them, and sewed each pleat down a little to keep the shape. When I realized that my dress was going to be too short, I created a middle panel. The dress is fully lined. The bow was made out of leftover red cotton. I purchased a brooch holder from Hobby Lobby and made the gem out of resin. I had to add a bit of acrylic paint to get the right color. The knee high socks were store bought, and the red shoes were purchased from Amazon. The emblem on the dress was an iron-on design. The belt was purchased from Ebay.

Personal Thoughts:

I never originally intended to cosplay Sonia (I didn't think I would pull her off), but I ended up buying a lot more fabric than I needed for my Peko shinai bag (I think I bought about 3-3.5 yards?). I had to figure out something to use this fabric for, then realized Sonia's dress was the same color as the fabric I had.
