About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used pretty simple techniques. Didn't do anything too crazy.rnrnCape: Simple half circle pattern with hood. Button was colored gold and sewn on with little flap.rnrnSkirt: Two parts: Main skirt and frill waist. The skirt is a half circle with a rectangle waistline and zipper. Two pleats were sewn into because because.rnThe top section is a long piece wrapped around together with velcro. The pleats were made to go around the waist piece, which is a triangle-like shape. I then made belt loops in order to put in a belt. rn*This piece was actually a test for Toru from Hitsugi no Chaika.rnrn"Chainmail": Knitted sweater than spray painted silver. We'll see how that turns out...rnrnBreastplate: Craft foam, spackling, spray paint, hot glue, and cape fabric. I patterned the pieces out with tape then cut it all apart. I used paper for a mock-up then glued that onto the craft foam after i cut it out for support. I did a few layers of modge podge to seal it before I went to spackle in the lines a bit. I then spray painted it then went and added a craft foam border (paper mock-up before too). Sealed and painted that. I glued two strips of cape fabric to the top for straps and made two little straps for the back with velcro. I made a fake buckle in the back with silver paint.rnrnAlready had white leggings and brown boots.rnRecycling Lucina's Falchion because I'm currently too lazy to make a new rapier for her ;3
- Personal Thoughts:
- Starla from V.G.'s novel, Starla Hale.rnCharacter by Thomas Castell.rnI "promised" (as in I wanted to and told him I would do it) this kid I would cosplay one of this characters... so I did because I have nothing better to do with my life during the summer time... : 3
