About this Costume
Construction Details:
This is a basic pleated skirt and princess-seamed bodice. RT patterned and fitted the bodice for me, and I made the skirt did most of the sewing for the bodice on my own. Laura kindly ironed my interfacing down and helped me pin things because I ended up waiting until the last minute and only had 48 hours to put the whole together.
Personal Thoughts:
the making and wearing of this cosplay is a study in friendship, to be honest. I procrastinated until it was nearly untenable to make the costume in time, but with the help of RT and terminallyxsadistic I was able to complete the costume enough to wear it. Then getting pictures with KDoranPhoto and hanging out around the matsuri was an unbelievably enjoyable experience.

I really dislike dressing as a girl for cosplay, since I feel much more comfortable dressed in a masculine way and emulating masculine characters. Hokuto was by far the most comfortable I've ever been as a chick character, thanks to wonderful friendships and people willing to work with me and huge poofy pettis, and wearing her with my Subaru and Seishirou was easily amongst my best cosplay experiences ever.
