Oh boy... where do I begin? Long story short, I couldn't cut corners with this despite having little to no time to make it.
Except for the tabi and fan, I had to make everything from scratch. First, I made two skirts: one as a regular tube skirt with an elastic waistband and the other as an andon bakama. Then, I made a furisode and modified a shirt pattern to create the under top. The belt is closed via snaps, and the headpiece is a rose and ribbon glued to a comb.
All of the designs on this outfit (except for the ones on the collar of the furisode) were done by me. I created them by coloring in a stencil with fabric markers and paint.
Lastly, the okobo. This was the first wooden item that I made with little to no help from my dad (although he stayed by to be an advisor/made sure I didn't cut my fingers off). Best of all, I didn't have to buy much for it! My dad had leftover wood, and I had leftover bias tape for the straps, so all I needed to buy was paint and wood putty! - Personal Thoughts:
- WHY OH WHY DID I DECIDE TO DO THIS 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE KON!?!? T_T
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Mainly trimming. I attempted to spike the top, but I think my cuts were too long.
- Wig Review
- A bit small, so may not suit every head.
