Construction Details:

I wanted something very textural for the dress, so I chose a nice microsuede. I made the bodice out of some fake leather I had lying around from a previous project. I had a hard time getting a clear image of what the bodice detailing was, so I went with a scale design that was on one of the toy figures I saw online.

Personal Thoughts:

I fell in love with Tauriel the moment I saw the trailer for Desolation of Smaug, and I loved her even more once I saw the film! I had always wanted to make a lotr/hobbit costume but I could never decided on a character. I was ecstatic when I saw that they added a red headed elf who is a total badass, and her story with Kili just melts my heart.
