About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used the Kwik Sew unitard pattern as a base with 4-way stretch spandex. The cutouts were made by first zigzag stitching around the border. Then I cut out the circle, turned the hem under, and used an overlock stitch overtop the hem. rnrnThe belt is faux leather strapping. I added a small loop to the back of the suit so the belt would stay in place. Gloves were a thrift shop find that I cut the fingers down on.
- Personal Thoughts:
- The new Matt Fraction/David Aja Hawkeye comics have made me fall in love with Kate hardcore. She's a great character with a pretty rad costume. I knew I had to make it at some point! I've never made a whole catsuit, or any kind of main garment from scratch with knit fabric before. So despite a few flaws, I'm pretty pleased with the results. Hopefully I can find a good prop bow & make a Pizza Dog very soon!
