Construction Details:

This costume is pretty simple, the shirt was printed and ordered by Zippy (our Carlos) as well as the WTNV Intern Badges. The only real work was a) finding an appropriately titled book to tear up and hold as a prop and b) the makeup. For the large lacerations I used nose and scar wax, applying Ben Nye creme liner and thick stage blood to the inside to make it realistic, and then shoved book pages inside of it. Originally I was going to have it so that the cuts revealed book pages underneath my skin, but it was too small a would and as soon as I added any makeup on the edges it covered the page completely. Oh well. I used liquid latex to make the scratches on my face by applying it and peeling up selective laters, then I just used good old Ben Nye creme liners and bruise wheels to make the broken nose, black eye, darkened eyes and there was also a self-defense wound on my wrist. Because, hey, my intern got mauled to death in a library so might as well go all out.

It was an honor and a real treat to have been a part of such a large and amazing Welcome to Night Vale Interns group at Katsucon this year! This makeup was a lot of fun to do, I especially had a blast shoving ripped up paper into my wounds uvu
