About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume is fairly simple for it's design but had a few smaller elements that took some time. The dress itself is a very heavy knit, the black fabric is a suiting. For the top of the dress, after I patterned the dress itself, I had to create neck pattern pieces that covered my neck, plus the front chest area as well as the back, but Hex Maniac's design shows that she had tiny pleats in those areas, it wasn't just flat. So, sewed pin tucks into the fabric at 1" intervals, then cut out the patterns from that, making sure to pattern match the pin tucks so it wouldn't look wonky. The hardest part was incorporating the zipper, I knew I needed one to keep it tight around the neck, thus made the back of the dress in two parts and attached the zipper at the end. The skirt itself fans out into almost a full circle (since her default sprite is her laying down), and the spiderwebs designs are hand painted on.

The wig took the most time of all of it, and is two FULL wigs combined into one. I even, at the very end, attached the lace top of the wig I harvested wefts from to the top of the wig I attached them to, achieving a fullness i'm satisfied with when comparing it to the battle sprite. Even so, i'll be teasing it out a bit more for my next Pokemon event!
Personal Thoughts:
Ive personally favored ghost Pokemon my entire life, ever since I was little and saw the "Ghost Children" episode of the original anime, so when I picked up X/Y and saw that there was a really cute creepy ghost trainer NPC, I knew I couldn't resist.

I specifically trained a team of ghost pokemon to battle with in this cosplay, which included two months of breeding to get a shiny gengar as my lead. That's got nothing to do with the costume but man did it make it better to wear.
